How should His devotion not be ours?
This was the devotion He taught in the sole prayer he composed for us.
We know from the Gospels that He was always speaking to His Apostles of the Father.
But for how many Christians today is the Father a living Person?
Too many have but one feeling for him—a feeling of fear. They dare not approach Him.
Among the various attributes of God there is ready recognition of His Fatherhood. But many take it only as a metaphor, or take it abstractly. Now worship is not given to an abstract attitude, but only to a person.
